Best Pick Reports

Program Overview

Since 1997, the Best Pick Reports team has conducted consumer satisfaction research to evaluate the performance of home service providers in dozens of service categories. We’ve since completed more than one million homeowner reviews and expanded from our home market in Atlanta to the nation’s capital and major metro areas in Texas, Illinois, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, Washington, and South Florida. As of 2023, we’re reaching homeowners and service providers in North Carolina and Tennessee!

In 2018, we became part of EverCommerce, the leading service commerce platform with a mission of transforming commerce for the service economy. Through EverCommerce, we partnered with two sister companies, GuildQuality and pulseM, to provide alternate avenues for companies to qualify for Best Pick Reports. GuildQuality is the nation’s leader in customer satisfaction surveying for contractors, and pulseM is an industry-leading organization providing online reputation management for contractors. These relationships allowed us to enhance our research quality and expand our reach to even more home service providers across the nation.

How the Program Works

To qualify for Best Pick certification, each company must meet our qualification criteria.

To determine your company’s rating, we first analyze your Google reviews. Your company must meet the following criteria:

  • An overall 4.0 or greater Google rating over the past three years.
  • A minimum of 25 Google reviews for the first year (and 15 upon annual renewal) for the primary category you’d like to qualify for; a minimum of 10 reviews for each additional category.

*If you don’t meet the 25 review (15 upon annual renewal) threshold, we will ask you to submit a list of customer names for internal research. We conduct internal research via email (preferred) and/or phone surveys with your customers.

As we work on your qualification status, we will be asking and verifying the following information:

  • Does your service area match our guidebook distribution maps?
  • Are you advertising the service categories you’re qualifying for with Best Pick Reports?
  • Is your company in good financial standing with a minimum credit limit of $1,000?
  • Is your company active and in good standing with the Secretary of State?
  • Has your company had more than two tax liens in a 12-month period?
  • Do you carry an active general liability policy?
  • For states that require worker’s compensation, do you carry an active workers’ compensation policy?
  • Do you have active licenses that are required by either the trade or your state?

Once you qualify for Best Pick certification, we invite you to promote your achievement by being featured in the Best Pick Reports printed guide, on bestpickreports.com, and in the Best Pick mobile app.

Every Best Pick company must maintain stellar work and customer service, be properly licensed and insured as required by the state. Each Best Pick must also sign the Best Pick Company Pledge.

The Best Pick Company Pledge

When a company becomes a Best Pick, the decision maker must sign the following pledge:

As a Best Pick program participant, we understand our company has earned a good rating in the Best Pick Reports research, and we have not purchased this recognition. The only way any company can obtain a good rating from Best Pick Reports, LLC, is to earn it by having a high number of satisfied customers along with good reviews.

So that we can directly benefit from our good rating, we have elected to participate in the Best Pick program. As a Best Pick program participant, we agree to have Best Pick Reports publicize our rating and other company information to customers and prospective customers.

We agree to treat any and all payments made to Best Pick Reports, LLC, as a marketing expense and will not pass such payment costs through to homeowners. We agree to continue delivering the same high-quality service to our customers that enabled us to earn a good rating. We agree to maintain our company and professional licenses. We agree to maintain our workers’ compensation when required by law and general liability insurance.
